Carry of the Week with Kelsey: Double Hammock

Carry of the Week! I want to start off with a little bit of an apology. As you may remember, I threw my back out last summer. I pretended I was better for awhile, but I have slacked on my COTW because I have been slacking on wearing in general. My back is pretty much shot. But I am starting to visit a lovely chiropractor and my goal is to slowly start the baby wearing again.

So let’s begin! I’m going to start the year off with a bang. Double Hammock! There are some great variations to tie off this carry, but anyway you do it is great. The chest pass takes a lot of the weight off your shoulders and the multiple passes contain some wild kiddos. Just look at this leaner. I have used the Saltwater variation to finish this off as I have narrow shoulders and this helps with that.

This carry is done with your base size. Mine is a 5, but most people will want a 6. For the fancier tie offs you will want a base +1 which is your base size then up a size. I’m pretty tiny so I was just able to bring the straps around to tie in front with a 6. I am using a Pavo Hopeful Hearts in a size 6 and Miss Clara is 10 months old.

Oh, and a fun mention. Back in the day on BabyCenter we used to do what we called the Naked DH. Shirts just get in the way when you are trying to wrap. Because of the chest pass on this carry you can easily go sans shirt. And lets just all remember this picture was taken 2 children ago.
